Projects
Federica pursues in front of the camera some of her theatrical figures (taken from the shows Erodià s, Rosmersholm – The Game of Confession and Eve – 1912-1945). The photographer captures and gives light to the transformations in the actress’s body in a constant dialogue between person and character.
The goal is to analyze and enhance what the look of the audience is often unable to grasp: the gestures which compose the acting performance. The way of composing the shot is the same of Still Life.
It’s the result of the synergy between three figures: sculptress, performer and photographer. In the first shots the performer replicates the poses of the sculptures, then interpreting the possible directions of the movement. In the final phase of the path, the figure, after having unveiled a part of the body, returns to the material from which it was extracted.
From the theatre stage to her native place, the actress here takes the shape of an unanimated object, used, laid in a corner and then taken again.
Derives from the need to bring outside the theatrical context three key figures of the experimental theater of Emilia-Romagna, belonging to three different generations. In every travel experience, the leading actress is also the scene’s director. The landing of each trip is the photographer’s studio.
