Places
Forge of visions, fertile ground for the birth of numerous experimental theater companies. The images depict the city from 1999 to 2003, in a moment of fervid transformation, from the decommissioned industries to the construction of the new dock. The color images are imprinted on artificial light films, to make the artificiality of the portrayed places even more crude. The old city’s monuments and historical buildings are portrayed in the silence of the night, favoring the use of black and white. It’s part of the project “Ravenna Viso-In-Aria“.
Against those visions that make Valpolicella an attractive and idyllic postcard, seductive in color and light, Fedrigoli told a completely different story because he was viscerally attracted by the narrow places that narrate work, sweat and human fatigue. Moving the optical bench close to abandoned marble walls or sneaking into quarries still in operation, the eye of Fedrigoli has composed a journey that gives voice to those stones, to those marbles, to those signs left by the man who seem now how to reabsorb in the natural landscape.
